The Department of Waste Management & Recycling (DWMR) manages the operations, maintenance, and development of the solid waste management system within unincorporated Sacramento County, and includes:
- Residential curbside pickup services for garbage, recycling, organics, and bulky waste collection to households in the unincorporated areas.
- Providing transfer and disposal services for household hazardous waste, residential, commercial, and self-haul customers at it's North Area Recovery Station and Kiefer Landfill.
- Regulating commercial solid waste and recycling requirements for businesses and commercial properties.
